Rabbits Breeders - Feeding

Wild Rabbits eat mainly grass and leaves, so you should feed your bunny Rabbit as close to such diet as possible. The main part of the Rabbit's diet should consist of grasses, such as basil, chicory, alfalfa, dandelion, dill, endive, and clover; vegetables, such as stems and leaves of broccoli, brussel sprouts, radish, tops of Dutch carrot, parsley, spinach, and watercress. Letting the Rabbit out into the yard to nibble grass in warm weather is a good idea. It is very important to check the fresh water availability.

In winter, you can grow your own grass and vegetables for the Rabbit. Even if you don't have a yard, it is possible to garden in pots. Green carrot tops, parsley, silverbeet and endives grow easily from seeds.

It is possible to give Rabbits sultana and raisin as a treat. Other treats may include chopped up carrot and almond. Some Rabbits like bananas, strawberry and currant. All treats should be given in small amounts; otherwise, your Rabbit may become obese. Giving Rabbits sweets and cookies is prohibited.

Rabbits Breeders - Traveling with a Rabbit

These animals don't like traveling, because they cannot stand being locked up in small enclosed areas. To save your Rabbit from stress while traveling, you have to buy a special carrier. Cardboard boxes are not good, as Rabbits can eat cardboard and escape. Place a soft towel in the carrier to make the Rabbit comfortable. Place the carrier on the floor as it is more stable and darker there. Use only water bottles, not dishes. Before the trip, allow the bunny to get used to the carrier. Rabbits usually relax for a long time after the trip.
